Burien, WA, May 23, 2018—Captain Jessica Sullivan has been selected to be the Burien Police Department’s next Captain. Her first day will be June 16, 2018.

Sullivan has 19 years of experience in law enforcement. Early in her career, she served as a detective in Burien. She has held assignments throughout King County including Shoreline, Sammamish, the King County Sherriff’s Office Special Assault Unit, and the Communications Center.
“I am a strong believer in the power of collaboration to promote safe, healthy communities,” says Sullivan. “I am excited to join Chief Boe and reintroduce myself to Burien!”

Her selection included input from police officers, civilian support staff, City leadership, and Burien community members. At the end of the interview process, the panel described her approach to solving problems as the right fit for Burien.

“I have known Jessica since the start of our careers in law enforcement and can tell you without a doubt she is the right person to help me lead our police department,” says Burien Police Chief Ted Boe.

Sullivan received her undergraduate degree from the University of Washington and holds a master’s degree in Strategic Public Relations from George Washington University, Washington, D.C.
