The City of Burien is conducting a comprehensive business survey to better serve our businesses and ensure their success. The survey includes a few questions about the potential ban on single-use plastic serviceware, including forks, knives, carryout containers, straws, etc., in favor of compostable items.
Paper surveys were sent to all Burien businesses, and included a return envelope with free postage. The survey is also available online. The online and paper surveys are available in English, Spanish, and Vietnamese. Survey responses are due November 9.
In addition to the traditional survey format, the City will also be conducting focus groups in order to get some in-depth knowledge about the strengths of locating in Burien and also the challenges our businesses face. Business owners participating in the focus groups will have the ability to choose a focus group according to their preferred language: English, Spanish, or Vietnamese.
