Community Garden

City of Burien Community Garden is located at 437 SW 144th Street

The Community Garden is open to Burien residents who are at least 18 years old and can be used for recreational/personal use to grow produce and/or flowers.

All plots are 75 square feet (6'x12.5') and cost $35/year. Each resident household may rent one plot, with priority given to returning gardeners.

Plots can be rented for one (1) year beginning April 1 of the current year and ending on March 31 of the following year (April 1-March 31).

  • Summer Season: April 1-October 31
  • Winter Season: November 1-March 31

All gardeners must complete eight (8) hours of volunteer service annually to the community garden common areas. Service hours must be reported by contacting the Community Center.

Application Process

For returning gardeners

Applications for returning gardeners for an annual plot in the Community Garden will be accepted from Monday, March 2 to Thursday, March 5. Final decisions for plots will be communicated by Friday, March 6.

For new gardeners

Applications for new gardeners for an annual plot in the Community Garden will be accepted beginning Monday, March 9 to Monday, March 23. Final decisions for plots will be communicated by Wednesday, March 25.

Applications submitted outside of this time frame will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis, and are subject to Community Garden plot availability and PaRCS staff approval.
