In 2025, the Burien City council created the Parks, Recreation & Cultural Arts Advisory Board (PRCA) to provide advice to the Burien City Council on parks, recreation, and cultural arts related programs such as the use and acquisition of land for parks, trails, and facilities; the care for trees and vegetation on parks property; the creation and objectives for recreation and cultural programs; obtaining or purchasing artwork for municipal installation; reviewing arts and culture services requests; making funding allocation recommendations; and working with local schools and arts organization for Burien’s benefit. The PRCA replaces the Burien Arts Commission and Parks & Recreation Advisory Board by combining the two entities in order to foster collaboration, efficiency, and strategic alignment of shared goals.

When: 6:30 – 8 p.m., the fourth Wednesdays of the month (because of the holidays, there will be no meeting in November and the December meeting is scheduled for December 3rd)
