The City of Burien is requesting proposals from qualified professional consulting firms who can assist the City in drafting a subarea plan for the Burien Regional Growth Center. The plan should include:

  • Thoroughly grounded and well-supported vision for growth, sustainability, and livability within the Center
  • Planning and design for capital facilities, infrastructure, services and amenities to support the increased density.

The Burien Urban Center encompasses approximately 353 acres, or approximately 7.4 percent of the total city area, and is roughly centered at the Burien Town Square mixed-use development that was designated as an Urban Center by the Puget Sound Regional Council in 2005.

Questions relating to the RFP or the Urban Center Plan should be directed to Thara Johnson, Senior Planner, [email protected], 206-436-5574.
