Burien’s having a birthday! Join us in celebrating Burien’s 25th anniversary of incorporation.
On February 26, we honored Burien’s civic leaders with a celebration at the Burien Community Center. Burien’s first mayor, Dr. Arun Jhaveri spoke, along with Mayor Jimmy Matta, and King County Executive Dow Constantine. Rep. Pramila Jayapal recorded a video message that was shown to the reception guests.
Former mayors, councilmembers, and board and commission members were also present. Representatives from the embassies of Guatemala, Mexico, El Salvador, and the Philippines also attended.
