Burien City Council issued a proclamation on April 5, 2021 declaring April “Sexual Assault Awareness Month” in Burien. They urged community members to take action to prevent sexual violence by standing with survivors and committing to a safer future for all children, young people, adults, and families in our community. Prevention comes from changing beliefs, attitudes, and behaviors about sexual violence, harassment, and abuse before it occurs.
