2026 PAVEMENT MANAGEMENT PROGRAM

Project Overview

The City of Burien is responsible for repairs and maintenance of approximately 137 center line miles of paved roads (residential 78%, collector 13%, arterial 9%).

The annual Pavement Management Program (PMP) consists of pavement preservation applications (crack sealing, micro-surfacing and slurry seal coatings), maintenance items (pothole repairs), together with necessary full reconstruction and rehabilitation pavement overlay projects. The purpose of the program is to reduce the overall long-term cost for maintaining the condition of Burien streets.

Each year projects are selected by reviewing the current Pavement Condition Index (PCI), field inspections, and resident input.
