Join us for the return of It’s a Wonderful Burien, a holiday tradition that brings our community together to support local businesses and arts groups for seasonal experiences and a festive celebration of community, creativity, and local spirit that makes our city wonderfully Burien!

Enjoy the 2025 Winter Light Display each night in Town Square Park, and explore downtown Burien for unique gifts, great food, and warm holiday cheer.

Winter Lights, November 12 – December 31, 4 p.m. Town Square Park, 480 SW 152nd St.

The City of Burien will illuminate Burien’s Town Square with winter twinkly lights every night.

 

Burien Winter Market, Thursdays, 10 a.m. – 4 p.m., Town Square Park, 480 SW 152nd St. from Nov 6 – Dec 18

Enjoy shopping at the Winter Market for holiday gifts and locally made foods.

 

The Past, A Present Yet to Come, Burien Actors Theatre November 28 thru December 21, 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Kennedy Catholic High School, 140 S. 140th St. 

A young entrepreneur in Victorian London sets out to produce a play that will soften his Uncle Ebenezer Scrooge’s hard heart. He turns to theatre producer J.B. Roth, who engages a broke, philandering Dickens. Are there ulterior motives for this unlikely mission to save Scrooge?  Tickets are $5-$25. 

Don’t miss the opening weekend deals! Friday, November 28, is the Northwest premiere and Saturday, November 29, all tickets are just $13. Sunday, November 30, all tickets are just $7.

 

Mimosa Walk and Shop Local Burien, Saturday, November 29, 11 a.m.– 4 p.m., Downtown Burien

Burien’s very own shop local event matches attendees with businesses while sampling a unique Mimosa while supporting Burien shops. Tickets for this event can be found at www.discoverburien.org, and it sells out each year.

 

Santa Claus is Coming to B-Town, Saturday, November 29, 9 a.m.–4 p.m.  with a brief cookie break closure for Santa from 1-1:30 p.m. Tin Room Bar & Theater, 923 SW 152nd St.

Bring a donation of non-perishable food, hygiene items, or cash/check benefiting Highline Area Food Bank and receive a free professional Santa photo from Clover Laine Photography! Your donation will also get you a ticket to a raffle prize featuring local businesses, with monetary donations earning additional entries.

 

Tis the SeasonSunday, November 30 at 1 p.m. and 5 p.m., Highline Performing Arts Theater, 401 S. 152nd St.

Join Contemporary, Hip Hop, Irish, Jazz, Tap, Theatre, and Creative Dance dancers from Momentum Dance Academy & Ensemble for a festive seasonal celebration. Tickets are $10 - $15.

 

 

The Nutcracker, Thursday, December 4 and Friday, December 5 at 6 p.m., Saturday, December 6 at 1 p.m. and 6 p.m., Highline Performing Arts Theater, 401 S. 152nd St.

A magical holiday classic. Join Clara on a journey to the Lands of Snow and Sweets. With its timeless score, beautiful costumes, and enchanting dancing, this full-length ballet will delight you with holiday cheer. Featuring the Momentum Ballet Ensemble and Academy Dancers. Tickets are $20 - $25.

Begin the Cookie Crawl at the Discover Burien office (611 SW 152nd Street) to get your map and a reusable bag to collect all the sweet treats from local businesses. ChristmasSounds, Saturday, December 13 - Sunday, December 14, 2 p.m. Highline Performing Arts Theater, 401 S. 152nd St.

Burien’s favorite holiday music tradition! Musical enjoyment for the whole family in this showcase of choirs bringing festive joy for the season. Featuring surround-sound voices in perfect harmony singing uplifting music of traditional, new, heart-warming, and fun choral selections. Tickets are $25 for general admission. Youth 17 and under with paying adult are  FREE.

 

 

Tis the Season, Monday, December 22 and Tuesday, December 23 at 6 p.m., Highline Performing Arts Theater, 401 S. 152nd St.

Join Acro, Contemporary, Hip Hop, Irish, Jazz, and Tap dancers from Momentum Dance Academy & Ensemble for a festive seasonal celebration. Tickets are $18 - $22.
