A new Renting in Burien Handbook, reflecting recent updates to Burien’s rental housing policy, is now available in English and Spanish on the City of Burien website at burienwa.gov/renting.
Landlords of Burien residential rental properties are required to provide this handbook to tenants. The handbook provides information regarding the rights and responsibilities of landlords and tenants and provides details on just cause evictions.
On October 24, 2022, the Burien City Council adopted Ordinance 804, amending Burien’s existing suite of renter protections originally passed in 2019.
