The City of Burien is deeply saddened by the horrific murders of eight people in Atlanta on Tuesday, including at least six Asian American women.
Racism and attacks motivated by racism against Asian Americans are on the rise across the country. The City of Burien stands in solidarity with our Asian American community during this very painful time and condemns all acts of hate, including the appalling violence that occurred in Atlanta.
We join those who are honoring those lost by recommitting ourselves as city leaders to creating an inclusive and welcoming community that celebrates our diversity and denounces racism, intolerance, and bigotry in all forms.
