The City of Burien is updating the code for temporary signs such as A-boards, banners, campaign signs, etc. If you have any of these signs, your business may be affected by this change. This update is in response to the 2015 U.S. Supreme Court case, Reed v. Town of Gilbert, which forbids cities from having criteria in their sign code based on the sign’s message, and limits sign code regulations to location, duration, design, and materials.
The community is invited to an open house to learn about how the proposed changes might affect your business and provide feedback.
