The City of Burien is conducting a periodic review of its Shoreline Master Program (SMP) as required every eight years by the Washington State Shoreline Management Act. This review is not a major update like Burien completed in 2013. Instead, the Periodic Review will be limited in scope to changes that occurred to state laws and rules since the update in 2013. Additionally, the update ensures that the SMP is consistent with other Burien plans and regulations.
There will be an opportunity for public engagement throughout the update process, including an open house in November.
