City of Burien Marks the Start of Pride Month by Raising an Inclusive Pride Flag at Burien City Hall
The City of Burien is kicking off a celebration of LGBTQIA+ Pride Month by raising the Pride flag over Burien City Hall on June 4, 2024 at 11:30 a.m. City Councilmembers and members of the Burien Pride Committee, a community-led group that organizes Burien’s annual Pride event, will join together to raise the flag.
The inclusive Pride flag, which represents multiple identities within the LGBTQIA+ community, will fly over Burien City Hall throughout the month of June. This will be the fourth consecutive year that a Pride flag has been raised.
On June 3, 2024, the Burien City Council will issue a proclamation in honor of LGBTQIA+ Pride Month during their regular meeting. The community is invited to the reading of this proclamation celebrating our LGBTQIA+ community members.
“Burien remains committed to its values of being an inclusive and welcoming city,” said Adolfo Bailon, Burien City Manager. “We look forward to continuing to celebrate these annual traditions with our wonderfully diverse Burien community”.
The Burien Pride event will occur in downtown Burien, June 7-9, 2024. The all-day street festival on June 8 will feature music, a beer garden, activities for kids, and more than 100 vendor booths in Burien Town Square Park and surrounding streets.
