Comprehensive Safety Action Plan

Safe public roadway improvements have been identified as a top priority for the Burien community. The Comprehensive Safety Action Plan (CSAP) was developed to prioritize multi-modal transportation improvements to improve roadway safety and reduce roadway fatalities or serious injuries pursuant to the Federal Highway Administration's Vision Zero program. The plan establishes a data-driven, citywide framework to advance Burien’s vision zero goals. This approach allows the City to understand and address safety, connectivity, and equity outcomes across the entire network.

Additionally, the CSAP provides compliance with federal and state requirements making Burien eligible to apply for grant funding programs, including Safe Streets for All (SS4A) program grants to implement the prioritized improvements.
