Car Seat Safety Program

Free Car Seat Inspections

According to National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), correctly installed car seats can reduce the risk of fatal injury in a passenger car crash by 71% for infants and 54% for toddlers.

Unfortunately, almost half of all car seats are installed incorrectly, even though most parents and caregivers believe they know how to install them.

The Burien Police Department offers free car seat inspections with a certified car seat technician by appointment to ensure your car seats are installed correctly. Each appointment will take anywhere from 30 to 60 minutes.

During your car seat check, the Burien Police Department will teach you about the features of your car seat and walk you through the process of adjusting and installing it correctly.

Make an appointment online.
