Notice of Intent to Sell

Notice of Intent to Sell (Burien Municipal Code § 5.63.060)

Owners of a multi-family rental housing building with five or more housing units with at least one unit that rents for an affordable amount to households at or below 80 percent of area median income (AMI) shall give Burien written notice of the owner’s intent to sell the building. The notice shall be provided at least 60 calendar days before the building is listed or advertised for sale. 

Notification can be done using this Notice of Intent to Sell form and emailing it to [email protected] or mailing to Burien City Hall, 400 SW 152nd St., Suite 300, Burien, WA 98166, ATTN: Rental Housing. The City provides the notification to affordable housing agencies and developers in the community.

To determine whether a unit’s rent is affordable to a household earning 80 percent of AMI, please refer to the table below.  Please account for any utilities the tenant is responsible for:
