Overview

The City of Burien Department of Economic Development team is seeking qualified organizations to administer a program to assist with the creation of vibrant placemaking murals in Burien commercial corridors. 

This RFP is open to public and private non-profit, private for-profit organizations, and artists within the state of Washington who are experienced in administering mural art programs in communities.

RFP Information and Application

The City of Burien Department of Economic Development team is seeking qualified organizations to administer a program to assist with the creation of vibrant placemaking murals in Burien commercial corridors. 

This RFP is open to public and private non-profit, private for-profit organizations, and artists within the state of Washington who are experienced in administering mural art programs in communities.

The City will allocate $200,000 for a partnership with a contractor to administer a mural arts program in Burien. The contract would include funds for the contractor’s administrative costs to manage the program, artist supplies, artist stipends, and necessary equipment rentals for the creation of at least twelve murals in multiple commercial corridors in Burien.

This partnership focuses on beautifying underinvested commercial areas, creating a sense of community, and inviting visitors and tourists alike to visit Burien for the art and stay to support local businesses.
