Closures and Cancellations

The City of Burien re-opened government buildings and services on July 13, 2021. Following is a list of new hours for buildings and services. Many services will continue to be available online.

The City of Burien is following the requirements spelled out in Healthy Washington: Roadmap to Recovery plan. King County, with the Washington State Department of Health’s approval, is the agency with legal authority to direct reopening.

New Building Hours

The following buildings will partially re-open to the public. All visitors, regardless of vaccination status, must wear masks inside buildings. City staff will be required to wear a mask in lobbies and at front desk service counters. People are considered fully vaccinated two weeks after the final vaccine in the series.

Starting October 25, 2021, a verification of vaccination and/or negative COVID-19 test will be required by Public Health — Seattle & King County to participate in activities, events, fitness programs, performances, or other gatherings at the Burien Community Center and the Moshier Art Center. .

Public Meetings

City staff are working on a plan to support City Council, board, and commission meetings that accommodate both in person and virtual attendance. Public meetings will remain virtual through December.
