Summer Camp

The Burien Parks, Recreation and Cultural Services (PaRCS) department is offering a modified summer camp for the month of August. Health and safety procedures have been put in place and social distancing guidelines will be followed to ensure a safe camp experience for your child(ren).

Campers will experience art, science, dance, games, enrichment, and play. Our camp will cover a fun mix of activities for everyone! Campers can sign up for just one week or spend all August with us. Campers are responsible for bringing their own lunch and an afternoon snack.

Campers may register for camp up until the Friday prior to each camp week. Payment must be made in full at that time. Space is limited to 44 campers per week for camp.

Registration

You can register online, by phone or in person during specified camp registration hours. All participants need to have a completed Parent Pack. Please bring the completed pack on your child’s first day of camp or email it in advance to parksinfo@burienwa.gov.

Scheduled Payments

A $20 deposit toward each camp week your child plans to attend is required at the time of registration. For your convenience, we are offering automatic credit card billing for the balance of your child’s weekly camp fee. Your credit card will be billed automatically on the Monday, one week prior, to your child’s registered camp week.

Refunds

Deposits are non-refundable, non-transferable; if full fees have been paid, a refund less the deposit will be issued if notice is received in writing by the Parks, Recreation and Cultural Services department at least one week prior to the scheduled payment due date.

Scholarships

Scholarships are available for those campers who qualify for free or reduced lunch. Complete the scholarship application and email to parksinfo@burienwa.gov.

Drop-off Time

Parents can drop off their child between 8:30-9:30 a.m. The child must be here no later than 9:30 a.m., as major activities start at 9:30 a.m.

Health checks will be required daily prior to drop-off. Parents will be asked a series of questions and campers will have temperature checks done prior to entering the facility. No parents will be allowed in camp facility. Camp staff will escort camper to their camp group.

Pick-up Time

Parents can pick up their child between 3 to 4 p.m. If you need to pick up your child early, please make arrangements that morning in writing when dropping off your child.

When parents arrive for camper pick-up, parents will call the camp phone and camp staff will escort the camper out. Parents will show ID and sign out, outside facility.

Medications

Staff are NOT authorized to disperse or administer medications, including prescription medications. If your child carries an epinephrine pen for severe allergic reactions, we ask that they know how to use it by themselves and keep it in a fanny-pack or back pack at all times. This includes staff applying sunblock to your child. Parents will provide sun block in a spray application if a parent prefers that camp staff apply the sun block to their child/children. See the Medication Form in the Parent Pack.
