Burien City Facilities to Temporarily Close to the Public to Protect Public and Employee Health

Update, January 26, 2022: Due to the current state of COVID cases in King County, the City of Burien has extended the closure of City buildings to the public through February 28, 2022. City leadership will reassess the closure on February 15.

Update, December 29, 2021: The City of Burien has extended the closure of City buildings to the public through January 31, 2022. City leadership will reassess the closure on January 24.

 

In an effort to slow down the transmission of the omicron variant of COVID-19, the City of Burien is closing City buildings to the public December 23, 2021 through January 4, 2022.

“We are making this decision in order to protect the health of our employees and the public,” said Brian J. Wilson, Burien City Manager.

Some City services will be available via the City's website, email, or telephone at (206) 241-4647.

On January 4, 2022, City leadership will reassess whether to re-open buildings to the public.
