Community Members Asked to Follow Public Health Guidelines When Planning Fall and Winter Gatherings
City of Burien leaders are urging community members to follow public health guidance this fall and winter. South King County, which includes Burien, is already seeing growing numbers of people contracting the COVID-19 virus. As people spend more time inside and the holidays approach, Burien leaders are concerned that there will be a surge in new cases, hospitalizations, and deaths.
“It’s vital that our community follows public health guidelines when it comes to protecting ourselves, our families, and our neighbors,” says King County Fire District #2’s Chief Mike Marrs. “Limit your interactions to members of your immediate household.”

Public Health officials are also encouraging community members to get the flu vaccine this year to protect everyone’s health as well as reduce the number of people who need to go the hospital.
