Plastic Bag Ban Begins January 1, 2020

The Burien City Council is considering two separate ordinances to reduce the use of single-use plastic items in Burien. The first proposed ordinance would ban retail use of plastic bags, and the second ordinance would ban plastic straws, polystyrene containers, food service utensils, and other types of single-use serviceware.
