Inclement Weather Policy

The Recreation Guide lists a wealth of programs for many different interests and ages.  Free or low-cost family special events also are offered throughout the year.

Programs are offered at the Burien Community Center (206-988-3700) and Moshier Community Art Center (206-242-7752), and other community locations, including Hazel Valley and Sylvester Schools. The Burien  Senior Program (206-244-3686) is also located at the Burien Community Center.

Recreation Scholarship Program

The City of Burien is pleased to announce that 50% matching scholarships are available for youth and teen programs.  Please call (206) 988-3700 for scholarship forms and criteria. Scholarships are made possible in part through funding from a grant for the advancement of parks and recreation opportunities in the community.

Interested in making a contribution to our Scholarship Fund?

Contributions are currently being accepted for the Parks, Recreation & Cultural Services Department's Recreation Scholarship Program.  Scholarships make available recreation opportunities for youth and teens who might not otherwise have the opportunity to participate in programs offered by the City of Burien. To inquire about making a contribution, please call (206) 988-3700.
