Overview
The City of Burien contracts with Fire District #2, a special service district, for fire prevention and suppression services. Fire District #2, in turn contracts with the North Highline Fire District to provide these services to the north areas of Burien.

Both these fire districts were providing fire services to the Burien community prior to the City's incorporation in 1993. Fire District #2 and Burien Police Services staff have also assisted the City with the development of its emergency operations plan.
