More than 70 citizens attended a community open house May 14th, 2008, at Gregory Heights Elementary School to discuss Burien's shorelines. Participants listened to presentations on the Shoreline Master Program update process and an overview of the existing conditions of the shorelines.

Following the presentations, participants broke into smaller, facilitated discussion groups where they expressed their concerns and desires regarding Burien's shorelines. The meeting then reconvened and the lists were shared with the entire audience.
