The Burien / Normandy Park Fire Department
was annexed by the King County Fire Protection District in 1995.
Located 10 miles south of Seattle, Washington, the Department provides fire suppression, fire prevention, hazardous materials response, mutual aid response, and emergency medical services in cooperation with King County Medic One, the 911 Communications Center, and other related public services.
The Department, consisting of 38 paid and roughly 20 volunteer personnel staffs two fire engines, one aerial ladder, and one aid car provide protection for the approximately 40,000 citizens who live within our boundaries. Advanced Life Support (ALS) is provided by King County Medic One. Private ambulance companies are utilized to transport non-ALS patients to local hospitals.
