Project Manager: Brian Victor, (206) 248-5533,
Brief Overview: The City of BURIEN (City) has received a Federal Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) from the King County Consortium Community Services Division for this project. Community Development Block Grant funds will be used for 100% design and construction.
Project will provide a hard surface pathway for pedestrian/bicyclist traffic especially for our school-aged children. Amenities will include: additional lighting, landscaping, and ADA compliance.
Project Status: 9-20-16: Paved trail portion with fencing is complete as of August 12 and now open for pedestrian only access . Project work is suspended until October 10 (when the rainy season is in full force this fall.) This is better for plant establishment of planned landscaping.
PLEASE NOTE: Trail usage is restricted in the evenings. Per Burien Municipal Code 12.20.020, the trail is restricted to Pedestrians Only. No motorized vehicles are allowed. If any motorized vehicles (i.e. ATV's, motorcycles, motorized skateboards, etc) are caught using the trail, that vehicle will be impounded and/or the user/rider may be ticketed. Burien PD will occasionally monitor the trail to enforce this Code.
