Planning and Budgeting
The planning process for city budgeting begins with the adoption of the Six Year Financial Plan and Capital Improvement Program.
Since many of the activities of the City are on-going processes or projects that cannot be completed in one year, this is a multi-year plan that gets reviewed and updated every year. The
2008-2013 Financial Plan and Capital Improvement Program and
2008 Budget has been approved by the City Council. The 2008 Adopted Budget is now online. You can review previously adopted budgets as well as earlier Capital Improvement Plans by clicking on Financial Documents.
The Burien City Council approves an annual budget each fall for the upcoming year. During the budget process the citizens have the opportunity to communicate with the Council regarding the direction the City is going in achieving the community's vision and goals for the future. We are developing a budget calendar for the
2009 Budget. Please check back soon for opportunities to provide comment on the preliminary budget.
