RESOLUTION NO. 214
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF BURIEN, WASHINGTON, ADOPTING BUSINESS LICENSE FEES
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Burien has determined the need to revise fees for business licenses;
WHEREAS, fees for all permits and licenses are currently set by the City Council by resolution; and
WHEREAS, in order to remain consistent, the City Council repealed BMC 5.05.110, in which section business license fees were listed, and the Council desires to pass the resolution herein in order to establish business license fees;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BURIEN, WASHINGTON, DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Fees Adopted – Existing Businesses. Business license fees for existing businesses in the City of Burien shall be as follows (for purposes of this section, “existing businesses” shall be those businesses that are not “new businesses”):
(1) The business license for a home occupation based in the city will be $35.00 per year.
(2) The business license fee for a business based outside the city will be $90.00 per year.
(3) The business license fee for any business, which has zero to 39 employees, other than a home occupation based in the city, will be $90.00 per year.
(4) The business license fee for any business, which has 40 or more employees, other than a home occupation based in the city, will be $175.00 per year.
Section 2. Fees Adopted –New Businesses. Business license fees new businesses pursuant to the definition set forth in BMC 5.05.050(5) shall be as follows:
(1) The business license for a home occupation based in the city will be $30.00 per year.
(2) The business license fee for a business based outside the city will be $75.00 per year.
(3) The business license fee for any business, which has zero to 39 employees, other than a home occupation based in the city, will be $75.00 per year.
(4) The business license fee for any business, which has 40 or more employees, other than a home occupation based in the city, will be $150.00 per year.
Section 3 Effective Date. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon passage by the Burien City Council.
