CITY OF BURIEN, WASHINGTON

RESOLUTION NO. 207

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF BURIEN, WASHINGTON, AUTHORIZING THE ESTABLISHMENT OF FLEXIBLE BENEFITS PLAN

WHEREAS, the City desires to establish a Flexible Benefits Plan for its employees and Councilmembers, including the Dependent Care Expense Reimbursement Plan, Medical Care Expense Reimbursement Plan, and/or component benefit plans and policies.   

            WHEREAS, pre-tax premium elections under the Plan are intended to qualify for the exclusion from income provided in Section 125 of the Internal Revenue Code.

            WHEREAS, the City desires to self-administer the services of a Flexible Benefits Plan.

            WHEREAS, such pre-tax elections made by participants will be handled and administered in accordance with the plan documents on file in the City Clerk’s Office.

            NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BURIEN, WASHINGTON, DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:

Section 1. Adoption The City Manager, or his/her designee, is authorized to execute an agreement and any related documents or amendments which may be necessary or appropriate to establish a Flexible Benefits Plan for eligible City employees and Councilmembers. 

Section 2. Administration  The City will self-administer the plan.

Section 3. Effective Date  This resolution shall take effect on January 1, 2005.

ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BURIEN, WASHINGTON, AT A REGULAR MEETING THEREOF THIS 13^TH DAY OF DECEMBER, 2004.
