RESOLUTION NO. 175

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF BURIEN, WASHINGTON, SUPPORTING THE HIGHLINE SCHOOL DISTRICT NO. 401 (Highline Public Schools) PROPOSITION NO. 1 REPLACEMENT OF EXPIRING EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS AND OPERATIONS LEVY.

            WHEREAS, The Board of Directors of Highline School District No. 401 adopted Resolution No. 2044, concerning a proposition to maintain current educational programs and operation; and

 

            WHEREAS, the levy will enable the Highline School District to continue to provide current educational programs and operations including instruction, safety, materials, and facility maintenance and operations; and

 

            WHEREAS, a partnership between communities, government and schools is integral to thriving, active neighborhoods and the local economy; and

 

            WHEREAS, the Burien City Council strongly supports schools and quality educational programs and facilities for its school age population.

 

            NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Burien City Council urgently calls upon the citizens of the Burien community to support the Highline School District levy for continued educational programs and facility maintenance and operations.

 

            ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BURIEN, WASHINGTON, AT A REGULAR MEETING THEREOF THIS ____ DAY OF ___________, 2003.
