Burien's hub location makes connections easy

Burien's location is ideal for easy access to Seattle, Tacoma, Sea-Tac Airport and the suburban eastside.

With a Puget Sound coastline, Burien is a convenient and scenic location for businesses, employees, and residents. Burien enjoys direct 15-minute access to Seattle byÝ State Route 509, the major entrance to Seattle's commercial, industrial and rail district. The Port of Seattle's bulk and container shipping facilities also lie just west of this route.

Tacoma is 25 minutes south of Burien along I-5. A planned extension of State Route 509 will provide a second I-5 connection to Tacoma and the Port of Tacoma.

State Route 518, an extension of the I-405 Seattle by-pass, provides access to SeattleÌs eastern and southern suburbs.

The city is five minutes from I-5 and Sea-Tac International Airport.

Metro, King County's transit service, provides local and express bus service connecting Burien with Seattle, Bellevue, and other cities. The Burien Transit Center includes a park-and-ride lot and direct bus service to downtown Seattle.
